Specialty Products Consultants (SPC) has undertaken an expanded analysis of the United States turf and ornamental pesticide market for the 2004 season. In April 2004, SPC published a “benchmark” study of the 2003 professional turf and ornamental market that has been widely acclaimed for its accuracy and strategic market insights. For the 2004 season, this study will be expanded to include even more market segments, such as athletic turf and sod farms, while continuing to provide high quality data in the core market segments. More than 1,200 lawn care operators, golf course superintendents, ornamental plant producers and others will be surveyed over the next few months.
“Our primary goal is to provide an accurate assessment of the marketshare for leading insecticides, fungicides, pre- and post-emergent herbicides and PGRs,” explained Gary Curl, president of SPC. “Additionally, we will measure marketshare of the leading formulators and distributors of turf products.” Turf pesticide use on golf courses, residences, and commercial properties represents the largest specialty pesticide market opportunity in the United States.
Among the many objectives of this comprehensive market research study will be an assessment of end-users’ attitudes toward post-patent pesticide product offerings. Also, SPC will provide a quantitative analysis of end-users’ opinions of leading suppliers to the professional turf and ornamental markets.
A Strategic Analysis of the U. S. Professional Turf and Ornamental Pesticide Market - The 2004 Season will be published in April 2005.
