Advanced Turf Solutions and Turf Professionals Choice, two Indianapolis, Ind.-area distributors with similar business philosophies, have announced their merger. The new company is operating under the Advanced Turf Solutions name and serves all of Kentucky and Indiana, as well as southern Ohio.
Alex Cannon is president of the new organization and Dan Dunham is vice president of operations. Vic Garcia, the founder of Turf Professionals Choice, has ownership in the company and serves on the board of directors. Garcia will continue to service his customers in the field and play other key roles in management.
Prior to the merger, the two companies served basically the same area and were both focused on the opportunities that post-patent chemistry offers the industry.
“Vic started this business because he saw a great opportunity to bring value to his customers through service and post-patent chemistry and I felt the same way,” Cannon said. “Our goals were identical and that led us to believe we would be more effective working as one company instead of two.”
Headquartered in a 28,000-square-foot facility in Fishers, Ind., and with a smaller warehouse in Louisville, Ky., the company distributes a full line of professional turf maintenance products and golf course accessories. For added convenience and efficiency, large orders of granular fertilizer or control product can be delivered and applied using the company’s spreader truck.
“Although we bring a significant amount of experience to the market, we are a small company owned by seven key employees,” Cannon explained. “We have a vested interest in our organization which makes us very committed to delivering a high level of service and value to our customers.”
