Miller, the UK-based manufacturer of excavator couplers and buckets, is set to expand entry into the North American market with a range of compact quick couplers and task buckets. Additional new products will also be released at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008.
In the company’s 30-year history Miller has grown to a position that has fostered relationships with the world’s leading Original Equipment Manufacturers, including a proven track record as a supplier of pin grabber quick couplers to the North American market since 1999.
This new expansion, launched at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008, will introduce Miller’s compact quick coupler range in three versions:
- Mechanical
- Hydraulic (semi-automatic with mechanical back up safety pin)
- Universal fully hydraulic (operation completely from inside the cab)
Each compact quick coupler is designed to provide fast, on-site attachment changeover. Hydraulic operation from the cab increases time savings, productivity and operator safety. The entire range features a cast shape that is strong, yet compact to minimize weight. Other features include quick/easy installation and the flexibility to operate buckets in standard and face mode positions.
The compact quick coupler range features a universally compatible design that allows for quick operation with a greater range of attachments, making each version ideal for mixed fleet owners and operators. The quick coupler range is designed to work with standard OEM direct mount buckets, as well as the new compact task bucket range.
The quick coupler was created by the family-owned Miller company in 1989 in response to an industry need for a safer, more time efficient way to change excavator buckets and attachments without leaving the cab.
“This North American launch is the next step in pacing the evolution of the quick coupler we first created nearly 20 years ago,” says Miller Sales & Marketing Director Jacqui Miller. “Customers all around the world have growing and ever-changing needs. It is Miller’s mission to help them complete their work in the timeliest, safest and most profitable manner.”
Complementing the compact coupler range is Miller’s new compact task bucket range:
- Digging & Loading Scoop
- Trenching Scoop
- Ditch Cleaning Bucket
- Vertical Wall Bucket
The specially-designed buckets provide operators with a range of on-site solutions – tailored to specific jobsite applications. Each bucket is an ideal fit for tight or confined areas.
“Two of the four task buckets are based on Miller’s Scoop bucket design,” says Jacqui Miller. “The Scoop is a world-renowned bucket that has proven its place in the large excavator market. The Miller compact task bucket range takes this innovation to a smaller scale, but comes up big for operator productivity.”
Miller is headquartered in the UK, where it was founded in 1978. The company has expanded operations with facilities in Europe, China and Japan. The company’s North American presence is centered in Savannah, Ga., where Miller Ground Breaking operates offices and warehouse facilities. From Savannah, Miller is able to distribute product and provide support throughout North America quickly and efficiently.
“Miller buckets, couplers and attachments are trusted around the globe,” says James Coleman of Miller Ground Breaking, Inc. in Savannah. “Now the North American market is going to get a greater chance to see what Miller quality, safety, service – and above all productivity – is all about.”
Miller will begin its North American product launch at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008, held March 11-15 in Las Vegas. Miller will exhibit at CONEXPO in Gold Lot G251. Miller representatives will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate products. New products will also be released during the event.
