ValleyCrest Constructs New Campus

The nation's largest landscape services company recently broke ground for a new facility set to open next summer.

After 24 in its Calabasas location, ValleyCrest Companies is building a 3-acre corporate campus on the property adjacent to its current facilities.

The nation’s largest landscape services company broke ground on the project in June, and construction is expected to be done in the summer of 2004. ValleyCrest plans to open the new campus in concert with its 55th anniversary.

“This building is a milestone for our company,” describes CEO Burton S. Sperber, who founded the company in 1949. With 8,000 employees nationwide and more than $620 million in sales, the new facility will allow Valleycrest to expand its existing services and continue on its path of growth.
One motivation behind constructing the new campus is the desire to provide employees and guests with a beautiful, enjoyable environment. The site’s park-like setting will feature a front garden and landscaped courtyard to accent the entry. Flowering and non-flowering plant material will be installed throughout the project to add the necessary color and texture.

No cars, parked or otherwise, will be allowed in front of the building. Rather, all automobile traffic will follow a landscaped drive to the rear of the building where a 3-story, 273-car parking structure is being built.

Nadel Architects, Inc., Los Angeles, designed the building core and shell. CNI, Los Angeles, developed the interior design, and Snyder Langston will provide general contracting services. Bomel Construction has been hired to design and build the parking facility.
