The MP2000 Rotator Sprinkler is more than just a new product. It also represents the development of a new irrigation company, Walla Walla Sprinkler, a subsidiary of Nelson Irrigation Corp. The MP2000 enjoyed a banner coming out party when it was introduced at the International Irrigation Show & Conference in October and it was honored with the Best New Product award.
The MP2000, which has been available since June, will make its mark through its water-conserving features, according to Mike Baron from Walla Wall Sprinkler. “The biggest water waster is mismatched precipitation or designing a job that mixes sprayheads and rotors on the same zone,” Baron pointed out. “The MP2000 is essentially the world’s smallest rotor, so it will let irrigation contractors have matched precipitation on even more systems. It features multiple rotating streams, adjustable arc, adjustable radius and exceptional uniformity while maintaining a matched precipitation rate throughout its arc adjustment range.”
This new product, with its range of 13 to 21 feet at an operating pressure of 25 to 55 psi, will be especially helpful irrigating slopes with all of the flow problems they create, Baron suggested. “We field tested this product for two-and-a-half years, so we know that it works,” he emphasized.
Baron noted a number of other features that he said contractors will appreciate about the product:
- Reduces water use out of the sprayhead by as much as 66 percent
- Distributes water in “fingers,” creating an aesthetically pleasing pattern
- Available in three different adjust arc models: 90 to 210 degrees, 210 to 270 degrees, and 360 degrees
The product is essentially a miniature rotor head that fits any pop-up sprayhead with a male thread from any manufacturer. “And we should have a model that fits the female thread design in the spring,” Baron added.
