Warwick Appointed President of Cleary Chemical

Leadership of specialty products company moves onto a third generation.

Fla

DAYTON, N.J. – Cleary Chemical Corp. appointed Mary Ellen (Cleary) Warwick president. Mary Ellen is a third-generation Cleary family member and succeeds her mother, Barbara Cleary, who has served as president for more than 25 years.

“I am pleased that my daughter has the same passion for this business as I do,” Barbara Cleary says. “It’s a perfect time for the next generation to take the reins as Cleary enters a new era of growth. Mary Ellen will oversee the introduction of exciting new products and technologies in the turf and ornamental markets, in addition to leading the expansion of our service commitment through the growth of our sales force.”

Throughout high school and college, Warwick worked in almost every area of the business, during which she was able to grow an appreciation for the hard work it takes to run a family business. Since graduating from Fairfield University with a degree in economics, she has worked full time for the company.

“My mother has always been an outstanding role model," Warwick says. "I am honored that she feels confident in my abilities to run a company she has spent her life building. It’s been very exciting here over the past few years but also very challenging. My mother has given me a very solid foundation to build on and I look forward to moving the business forward and passing it on to the next generation.”

Mary Ellen has four teenage children who have recently started working part-time in the business, just as she did.
