CLEVELAND – Lawn care operators and golf course superintendents interested in the latest trends in grub control can ask their questions through a live, interactive Web-based Tele-Seminar Mon., Nov. 13 involving leading university experts. The program, scheduled for 7 p.m. EST, will feature Daniel Potter, Ph.D., University of Kentucky, and David Shetlar, Ph.D., Ohio State University, and can be viewed by logging on to www.grubfree.com.
Both professors, who are leading researchers in grub control, will provide an overview of the most recent developments in their fields during the first 30 minutes of the seminar. A question-and-answer period will follow during which the audience can have direct contact with the presenters.
The educational program is being offered as a collaborative sponsorship of MACH 2 turf insecticide, Lawn & Landscape magazine and Golf Course News. Content will include important industry developments – such as the increasing popularity of preventive grub control and the potential role of emerging chemistries. The program will be moderated by representatives of the two sponsoring publications, including Nicole Wisniewski, managing editor of Lawn & Landscape, and Dave Premo, group publisher of Golf Course News.
"This is a rare and valuable opportunity for turf managers," said Cindy Code, group publisher of Lawn & Landscape. "There are numerous changes that are impacting the way these professionals must approach their work, and the program will provide specific insight and direction."
Premo said, "The opportunity for turf managers to communicate with two of the industry’s most respected experts is a distinct benefit. We encourage all lawn care and golf course management professionals to take full advantage of this great opportunity."
The program, titled "CyberSummit 2000: www.grubfree.com," can be accessed through that URL. As a multi-media presentation, it will include a live, on-screen window of the speakers, supported by a simultaneous, on-screen window showing their visuals.
The audience will be able to click to an additional window where they can submit their questions for the speakers before, during and after the event. The program will also be available for on-demand viewing via the Internet for three months immediately following the live presentation. Questions posted on the web site will be forwarded to the speakers for post-event response as an added service to viewers.
An audio-only version of the live program can be accessed by calling 800/427-6791. Callers can submit questions to the speakers via the telephone connection as well.
