Wednesday is the day of the week when the most job hunters are reviewing and responding to job advertisements, according to eQuest, which manages job posting for employers.
The company examined nearly 1 million jobs posted through its system since January 1, 2006, tracking how many candidates view jobs ads and how many of these candidates move to the next step of the application process.
The company found that 17.5 percent of candidate activity occurred on Monday, 17.8 percent on Tuesday, and 18.1 percent on Wednesday. Candidate activity dropped on Thursday and Friday, with 16.8 percent of job searching occurring on Thursday and 12.3 percent of it occurring on Friday.
The peak job-searching time occurred between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, according to the company.
eQuest recommends its users post their jobs early in the week to get jobs in front of the most candidates.
