S321 and MSG15 seats

Grammer has launched two new seats. The first static seat to be introduced by Grammer is the S321. In addition, a new semi-suspension seat, the MSG15, has been announced.

The new, S321 seat shell sports a modern design that was created mainly for the U.S., but also for the European and Asian market. It is padded with a two-part, 18.5 in. wide cushion which can be foamed with the proven Grammer backfoaming technology or be upholstered conventionally to create special designs. It is optionally available with armrests, fore/aft adjustment, and an operator presence switch (OPS) as well as a seat belt system for enhanced safety.

The seat shell can be installed either as a static seat with or without slide rails or be combined with the new, economical MSG 15 semi-suspension, which features a three-step weight adjustment for even greater comfort. When used with the MSG15, the shell can also be folded forward to service the vehicle or protect the seat’s surfaces from the weather on unused open-station vehicles. Alternatively, the seat can be combined with the new MSG283 suspension. This purely mechanical, scissors-type suspension is manufactured completely without welding, thus reducing the number of components used. The suspension essentially consists of a horizontal cluster of tension springs. The system features a suspension stroke of 2.75 in., height adjustment by up to 2.36 in., and a weight adjustment range from 110-286 lbs. The combined weight and height adjustment mechanism lets the suspension be ideally set to satisfy the user’s personal comfort preferences.

The MSG65/75 combines a S500 series seat top with a cushion between 15.7 and 18.5 in. wide with either a very low-profile MSG65 mechanical suspension or a MSG75 pneumatic suspension. This yields a new level of performance, because both suspension systems weaken vibrations considerably. Due to the seats’ high degree of modularity and compact design, they can be used in a variety of vehicles that have only limited space in the cab, thus also enabling outstanding sitting comfort in cramped conditions. Being highly robust, however, they are suited for professional landscaping and turf care equipment and compact construction machines such as skid-steer loaders and mini-excavators. And they are typically installed in counterbalance and reach-type forklift trucks.

In recent years, the available modules for assembling the MSG65/75 seats have gained many new comfort- and convenience-enhancing features. They include a low-frequency seat suspension that reduces vibrations and jolts even more effectively and an optional fore/aft isolator. Fully automatic setting to the operator’s weight and a new height adjustment feature make it even easier to optimize the seat for use. The cushion width has been extended to 20.4 in. The seats’ modularity even makes it possible to install the larger S700 seat top, which offers a new dimension of comfort with a maximum seat width of 21.6 in., seat cushion depth adjustment, pneumatic lumbar support, and active seat climate control.
