CLEVELAND - Vincent Nestor, owner, Nestor's Sprinkler & Lighting, Alpharatta, Ga., was chosen from hundreds of entries to receive a free copy of TurfGold's business software through the Lawn & Landscape Online sweepstakes.
Nestor, who has been in business for 22 years, said he doesn't currently use any business software and is hoping that the TurfGold product will help streamline office procedures.
"Right now my wife manages our client list through Microsoft Office programs," he explained. "I'm always ready for change and efficiency."
In addition, Nestor, whose small business employs only himself and his wife, said he hopes the software will help him easily update contracts, invoices and proposals as he is constantly adding new services to his list of offerings. Though the name of his business suggests that Nestor only installs irrigation and lighting, he is actually a full-service contractor - managing to make about $500,000 last year with one truck and the use of subcontractors.
"I'm the guy who knows how to do everything," he enthused. "By keeping it trim, I'm still making profit and I have very low overhead. Business has been in my blood from the get go."
