May Sweepstakes Winner – Starting a New Chapter

Jeremy Wehby is the lucky winner of the May Lawn & Landscape Online sweepstakes, sponsored by CLIP software.

PLANTATION, Fla. – For Jeremy Wehby, company growth has followed him throughout several milestones in his life. After starting National Core Services, Plantation, Fla., during college, he reflected upon the company’s first few years at his graduation. When he got married, he looked back on the days when he distributed company fliers with his then-girlfriend, who eventually became his wife.

And as he embarks on the next leg of his journey – with a new baby boy in the house – he has an even greater need for business organization. Therefore, it’s only fitting that Wehby is the winner of Lawn & Landscape’s May online sweepstakes – bringing home CLIP software for his routing, billing and business scheduling needs.

Wehby initially felt the drive toward the green industry in college, when he needed some extra cash. Since he had grown up with the teachings of his uncle, a landscape contractor, he already knew the industry, and his own company seemed like a logical step.

“I knew the business, so I said I would do it in college and made some money on the weekend,” he said. Even though his dream and degrees in economics, marketing and advertising led him to explore the idea of the secret service, his landscaping background took precedent. “When I graduated, I had six or seven guys working for me and just went from there,” he said.

Today, National Core Services maintains primarily commercial accounts, focusing on design/installation and lawn maintenance, and reporting about $750,000 in revenue last year. With 18 full-time employees, Wehby has people watching his back, but continued to enhance his education with landscaping classes. It was during the classes that Wehby learned about Lawn & Landscape Online and entered the sweepstakes.

Now that Wehby’s household contains three, he recognizes the need to improve productivity while he takes on the challenge of being a new father. “We don’t micromanage numbers as much as we should,” he said. “And I think the CLIP software will help us in that respect.”
